“I was just gambling for fun at the undead carnival. I had no idea the undead were so serious about the silver. Until the double or nothing—for my soul.” –Sendric, cadaver man of the Undead City of Vivane at his own murder trial with Torgak accused of his murder.

PC RECAP

Pugsli’s Spy Report 13. Trial.

Strassa 30, 1521 TH Mount Vapor

Boss,

We met a curious albino female windling Beastmaster Named Aylaa who was riding a white zoak. She seemed interested in us and accompanied us back to Bartertown.

Veltom 6, 1521 TH Bartertown Gates

Boss,

As we were set to leave town, a group of 300 Grim Legionnaires entered town escorted a strange stone carriage carried by many granlains. It opened to reveal a bound and gagged Torgak and V’dor Revanche. They were to be taken to Throal for trial by the justicars in the murders of Sendric and Shaq. The two were taken to a maximum-security cell in the Throal jail with 150 Grim Legionnaires staying to guard them. The other 150? They went to the undead City of Vivane, to liberate the undead Sendric to act as a witness of his own murder! Of course, the others decided to get involved and became Torgak’s defense advocates for the trial set in two months.  I have a feeling you have something to do with this, R.

P,

                Mind your own business.

Veltom 8, 1521 TH Bartertown Gates

Boss,

After a week in town, we finally left Bartertown to go to the Spiral Towers.

Veltom 14, 1521 TH Bartertown Plains

Boss,

A group of White Fang cavalrymen charged us. Why would a group of gentlemen bandits attack us without even a conversation beforehand?   We defeated them, but it cost Ninheim his Granlain, which he replaced with one of their remaining warhorses. They won’t need them in the spirit world.

Veltom 14, 1521 TH response dated Veltom 21, 1521 TH

P,

The White Fangs and the Skull Whargs have been attacking travelers unprovoked recently. The behavior is very odd. It is especially out of the normal for the White Fangs though. Just be careful around Bartertown these days.
                                                                                                                                                                -R

Veltom 19, 1521 TH Spiral Towers

Boss,

As we entered the Spiral Towers, a t’skrang mob accosted us for being child murderers—
again. Ninheim brought out a backpack and revealed eight preserved heads—our heads. It made me sick to my stomach, but it is incontestable proof that there were dopplers of us. The crowd ran in fright at what they had seen. We also showed the heads to the t’skrang guards and Thyrnn and cleared our names.
We had Thrynn escort us to see the Shivalahala of T’kambras, Sarasai. She told us of the first Shivalahala of the first House Syrtis, and the legend of the old war between the elves and Jaspree with the t’skrang and Upandal. She told us the name of the questor who created the fire engine, T’chaidos. She also told us the name of the first Shivalahala of Tkambras, T’saria.
We needed to get to House Syrtis and talk to the Prophetess, so we went to see Magnus. He suggested we take the Pilgrimage Route as he had done, which ends up at House Syrtis with an audience with the Prophetess. We decided instead to go see one of the few remaining Barsaivian nations with good relations with House Syrtis, Scavia. The Scavians still supplied House Syrtis with True fire, and we thought if we could see the descendants of the Scavian King, we could get a message through to House Syrtis. So we went to the port and got passage on Nemokla Vitaille’s riverboat for an arm and a leg with a destination in the Scavian river barges near the Mist Swamps.

Veltom 20, 1521 TH Spiral Towers Dock

Boss,

We were loading up the Floranuus’ Sprint for our journey, when Noratu started concentrating on the Sword of Seeking. He wanted to confirm whether we were on the right path. He asked the sword where the knowledge of the t’skrang hero was. We were all surprised when the sword glowed with white fire and turned its blade towards the wielder, Noratu. Noratu knew the Key Knowledge already. But what legend was the correct one? Noratu figured it out. The ship was the constellation of the T’skrang Key. Thus it was about T’chaidos, the legendary Boatman and questor of Upandal who had created the fire engine, and lead to the dominance of the Serpent River currently enjoyed by the t’skrang.  So we decided we would not need ship transport and just returned to Bartertown by land to get back for Torgak’s trial.

Charassa 12, 1521 TH Bartertown Gates

Boss,

The trip back was long and dull, but that still beats being attacked by crazed scorchers! We began researching the dwarven heroes for the Dwarf Key, while gathering evidence and witnesses, as well as picking jurors for the trial.

Rua 6, 1521 TH Throal courthouse

Boss,

We acted as trial advocates for Torgak, successfully defending him from the heinous crime of murder the Grim Legion alleged. The jury found that Sendric’s death was a result of his own bad choices, and not due to any negligence on Torgak’s part. V’Dor was also tried the same day, and found not guilty for murdering the Horror-marked Shaq Fu-Lou. And so the dirty deed is finally done.
                                                                                                                                                                -P

Rua 6, 1521 TH response

P,

I don’t care for your current attitude.  When we signed on with D for this project, you knew there was no going back. It’s our job to do the dirty deeds that need done. And this one is done.
                                                                                                                                                                -R

Rua 13, 1521 TH Throal library

Boss,

After weeks of research, Noratu learned that the dwarf hero was Named Bujmon.  He had successfully defeated the giants in Scytha and Throal and supposedly wiped them out. But, I know in reality that they were merely pushed east to the Caucavik Mountains away from their ancestral home where the frost gigas now live. Or perhaps this legend has something to do with Lasael as well? We were unable to find anything about the elven hero, so we decided to head for the Heart Wood to learn about the elf legends.
