Omega Cell 107 Report 28

Tuesday December 14, 2004
Setsuna's Secret Brothel, Southpoint, Star City

Setsuna went to Willy the Fish to purchase some bouncers. After some negotiation, she paid $18,000 to hire three bouncers from Willy the Fish.

[With a wealth modifier -3 for monthly income as well. However, the minion bodyguards came equipped with Ablative armor, Vibro knives, and Herokiller pistols. It's all about the gear and not the stats. At a x 6 modifier (Setsuna got a 19 Persuasion, so -4 to the normal x 10 modifier), Three HK pistols is $5,400, Three Vibro Knives is $9,000, and the Ablative armor is $3,600. Which comes to $18,000. The bouncers cost a -$1,000 a month stipend themselves. Gotta survive till the first payday on New Year's Day though...lol]

Meanwhile, Bubbles was bored and played a little mind control game on one of Setsuna's dancers. She made her do a strange jellyfish dance on stage. This confused B-Hold-R and he reached out his telepathic (and paralytic) tentacle to ask if she was alright. This made her drop prone on stage from paralysis, making everyone in the room think she had an epileptic seizure on stage except for the culprits.  After realizing that the dancer was ok and under Bubbles' control, B-Hold-R skulked away.

Wheeljack paid for some recreation with one of the dancers and was suddenly shocked by the new $400 price tag. With the trouble with The Family, Setsuna had raised prices x10. If it was good enough for Willy the Fish, it was good enough for her girls.

Bubbles mind controlled the DJ to play YMCA during Wheeljack's private session but the dancer's improvisation skills saved the day.

[Bubbles tried to mind control a bouncer as well to dance the YMCA while the DJ played the song with her More Minds power.]

"No more mind controlling the dancers or the DJ!"--Setsuna

Setsuna's Secret Brothel, Southpoint, Star City

I sent them an urgent distress call from the Undergrounders. I had sent 4-Star and Lucky underground after they had refused to be around Setsuna's lair. Something was attacking them in the sewers. Fortunately for the group, Bubbles knew the location of the Undergrounder base and the Omegans rushed to the rescue.

Wednesday December 15, 2004
Downtown, Underground Sewers, Star City

When the Omegans arrived, they found 4-Star and Lucky trying to cover the escape of the remaining Undergrounders. Half of them had been slaughtered and their leader Mindjack was down. Undergrounders ran from the battle scene in a blind panic towards the Omegans as another group of them tried to leave via an elevator that had shorted out.

Setsuna disintegrated several of the Undergrounders running towards her. The two remaining Undergrounders brought out their Blaster pistols and fired at her but she dodged the energy beams. Ruin used his katana to cut one down and his Vibro saw to cut down the other one. I don't know what possesses Setsuna that she kills our own allies as much as our enemies.

At least Wheeljack fixed the elevator and saved nine Undergrounders. Of the twenty-five that once used this area as a base, only half remain.

Lucky was severely wounded as he was attacked by G'rok and dog hybrids and the Vibro whip of a V'sori beastmaster.

Bubbles ran up ahead and fought with Lucky on the front line taking out a dog and G'rok hybrid.

4-Star and The Blood King tried to fire into the melee but they kept missing.

A massive G'rok charged ahead at Bubbles and Lucky but tripped on a traffic cone. It stood up from prone and roared its frustration.

Bubbles fought against the G'rok with a barrage of attacks but missed her last one as her sai sailed out of her hands into a fast moving sewer current. The G'rok was bloodied but still stood.

The G'rok attacked her back and left her wounded.

The V'sori beastmaster and remaining dog and G'rok hybrid knocked out Lucky.

Setsuna used her touch to disintegrate the G'rok but also touched Bubbles in the chest, melting her armor and leaving her paralyzed and twitching on the ground.

"Not so funny when it's happening to you instead of my girls is it!"--Setsuna

The Blood King tried to move into melee but missed its tail attack against the war hound.

Ruin changed into his flame form and unleashed a massive blast of fire energy. Bubbles and Lucky barely survived the intense heat. The Blood King's systems were fried and it fell over. The V'sori beastmaster, dog and G'rok hybrid, Undergrounders caught in the blast, and Mindjack plus their gear were melted instantly.

[Kevin used Bullseye! to double his damage. Lucky's Harder to Kill edge allowed him to survive the intense heat. Bubbles was severely injured because of her weakness to fire.]

Wheeljack gathered parts in the area like Blaster pistols and high tech equipment in the Undergrounder's lair to gain enough scrap to repair The Blood King to operational.

[McGyver use one for Wheeljack. The use of the Blaster pistols in this allowed The Blood King to keep its weapon operational. ]

Ruin healed Bubbles to consciousness as Lucky regenerated all his wounds. Once Ruin was done healing Bubbles, he got a Medi-Stim from Wheeljack then rigged it to make it a Repair Stim.

[McGyver use two for Ruin. This one was pretty smart as it allowed a Vigor roll for The Blood King every hour for three hours to repair itself with nanobots. It's a simple trapping change for the Medi-Stim to change it from repair flesh to repair steel.]

4-Star told them that the hybrid monsters seemed to be able to track them based on their super powers. I reminded them if these creatures were not stopped soon, they would soon find Setsuna's lair by simply tracking their super powers.

The elevator was rendered nonoperational by Wheeljack's meddling with the base's systems. So they hoofed it through the sewers, as Wheeljack tracked the steps of the monsters through their steps left in the sludge.

Dog Food Cannery, Southpoint, Star City

They came out of the sewers in the middle of the facility. Drones worked on an assembly line making canned dog food as others guarded the doors.

Setsuna stole her fusion grenade back from Ruin. Then she placed it next to the boilers before climbing up to the next level. Ruin's danger sense went off and he turned into his wind form to go up the ladder to a higher platform.  The grenade exploded and took out a third of the facility including the platform that Wheeljack and Lucky were standing on. The Blood King grabbed Wheeljack to save him. Lucky plummeted into the sewers when Bubbles refused to grab him and save him from falling.

4-Star climbed down the pipes and walls of the facility and sewer before falling on a slick wall when he had nearly climbed all the way down. He got up and swam to Lucky, managing to get him out of the water and pull him to the shore for CPR to clear his lungs of water. However, Setsuna's folly meant both 4-Star and Lucky were out of the fight.

[4-Star got a success and then an 11 on one Climbing roll for three successes but failed the last Climbing roll to fall to the sewer floor. Then it took a couple rounds to swim to Lucky but he made it with a round to spare before he could have drowned.]

Bubbles used her rocket boots to get up to the drones at the top of the stairs on the upper platform. She defeated the two drones despite them using their Vibro claws to parry her attacks and trying to slice her open, but it cost her a sai as it flew out of her hand and into the smoldering ruins to the left. The sai melted into the smoking conflagration.  Bubbles then went up to the roof and got into the V'sori Barracuda. She overcame her acrophobia and flew into the facility through the gaping hole in the center of the roof from the explosion.

Meanwhile, Ruin summoned a whirlwind; a vortex formed inside the building from the hole in the roof.

Wheeljack teleported to the other side of the facility towards the front door and away from the flames.

The Blood King went to the center of the platform and it grew to full size.

The V'sori scientists unlocked their dog and G'rok specimens as their K'tharen Fin bodyguards tried to secure an avenue to allow them to escape to the roof. The other drones not engaged with Bubbles failed to detect the invisible characters or those on the roof through the smoke.

[A particularly awful critical failure notice group roll but the result made sense in the situation.]

[Randall played Here Comes the Cavalry.]

Suddenly B-Hold-R launched a sequence of five attacks on a K'tharen bodyguard. A paralyzing tentacle, two swinging tentacles, a bite, and finally an eye laser beam took down the Fin.

But then the drones and Fins saw B-Hold-R through the invisibility and smoke. A series of swinging Vibro and Fin claws brought him down. The ancient creature cursed in its language and got right back up.

"@!#?@!"--B-Hold-R

Setsuna walked down the western stairway and tossed a fusion grenade at the group of enemies. This would have struck B-Hold-R, but it batted the grenade east with its tentacle.

"@*#$! (^*!) $#+$*%!"--B-Hold-R

[First striked the grenade!]

The fusion grenade blew up most of the Fin bodyguards, as well as two V'sori scientists and specimens.

B-Hold-R stumbled to the east trying to get away.

The V'sori scientists called for reinforcements and went back to release the G'rok. Another V'sori scientist told the drones on the assembly line to stop working and deal with the intruders.

But then Ruin summoned his whirlwind on top of the conflagration to suck in the flame and smoke from the exploded area before putting it over the enemies as well as B-Hold-R and Setsuna. The cyclone took B-Hold-R down to the pipes below and it bounced on them just before it stabilized and floated just above them.

Exhausted beyond even his ancient constitution, B-Hold-R stopped moving.

Setsuna jumped down to the pipes and held on for dear life screaming as she saw her decay power starting to erode the pipes she was holding.

[Bobbie played Out of the Frying Pan to get away from 3d8 x3 fusion grenade damage.]

Ruin's fire cyclone exploded one of the Fin's fusion grenades. The resulting three blasts wiped out all the enemies in the area and blew a hole in the west wall as well as collapsed the center walkway. The center walkway smacked into the pipes below and Setsuna barely held on as the pipes started to bend downward.

The Blood King used its tail to grab B-Hold-R and bring it up to the center platform.

Setsuna decayed the pipe she was holding away but managed to grab onto the next section. She used her legs to straddle the pipe and bent it downward with gravity before swinging herself on top of the pipe. She ran on top of it as it continued to bend downward behind her. She jumped up but missed as she decayed the center railing when she grabbed it. The pipes below were teetering and she was sure to fall if she didn't get up soon.

When Bubbles returned inside the facility she ran over two drones with the V'sori Barracuda.

Wheeljack teleported inside the vehicle to turn the barracuda's heavy laser on the drones.

Ruin moved his cyclone in front of the door of the specimen containment room. The back draft of the cyclone sucked in the last V'sori scientist and threw him back into a cage, breaking his spine.

The G'rok ran out towards the Omegans ignoring the cyclone.

Wheeljack shot and killed the G'rok before it could reach Ruin.

Bubbles turned the V'sori Barracuda around.

The Blood King grabbed Setsuna by her legs and dragged her up to the center platform. The Blood King dropped her on the ground and then grabbed B-Hold-R to bring its unconscious form into the mech.

Ruin moved his whirlwind onto the dog food production line. His cyclone took four cans of dog food and turned them into shrapnel, shredding three of the drones.

The last remaining drone destroyed the V'sori Barracuda with his blaster cannon.

Wheeljack teleported out of the vehicle and shot the last drone with his fusion laser.

Bubbles used her super speed to get out of the crashing vehicle in time.

Setsuna tried to grab onto The Blood King but it was too big to decay. The Blood King stomped her unconscious and then grabbed her on Wheeljack's orders.

4-Star and Lucky escaped through the sewers and left to look for the surviving Undergrounders.

The Omegans escaped through the hole in the western wall and returned to their lair to rest.

 [End of Session]

XP: 3. Miss XP 2, Minimum XP = Veteran (54)

Loot: None

Pictures:

Figures and vehicles include those from HeroClix by WizKids and Necessary Evil Figure Flats by Pinnacle Entertainment Group. DramaScape's City Sewers used for Scene 1. The traffic cones are from a police action figure pack I bought at Marcs. DramaScape's Level 1 used for Scene 2. I cut out and put together three of the security X-ray machines from DramaScape's SciFi Floorplan Tiles to make a small assembly line. I also printed out a lab tile from SciFi 6 x 6 Tiles Set 02 for the room containing the Warhounds/G'rok for their cages. Level 1 is an interesting map in that it has a lot of industrial pipes and boilers but the ground floor is relatively empty. So you can fill it as you would like. One suggestion is the Cargo and Containers 3d freebie to fill up the space with crates and containers of the finished industrial product of the facility (making a storage warehouse with plenty of cover).
